Description:
This module discusses the growing problem associated with heat waves and air qualities in urban enviornments. After reading through the scenario and using the additional resources provided, students complete investigations to further their understanding and consolidate their knowledge. All of the investigations and their difficulty level are listed below. They can be downloaded in full from the 'Thermal Islands Module' link.
The NASA Global Climate Change Education/Earth Science Education Alliance (ESSEA) modules include situations, connections to standards, resources and sample investigations. Unless labeled K-4 the modules can be adapted for middle and high school students.
