Description:
Students study global and local food issues through examining the changing nature of farming on the prairies and the social and economic implications of this change for communities. As a culminating activity for the topic, students choose between an inquiry or action project based on food.

Evaluation Rubric:
Students will submit their assignment at the end of the topic term in a manner which reflects their learning and understanding. All assignments will be graded using an appropriate rubric for each form that their assignment is submitted as. Students are encouraged to explore multiple forms of expression including: action project – journal and documented, research project as a word text including graphics, video or model.
