This activity is part of a larger environmental education workshop package called Critical Hope; An Approach to Environmental Education which includes almost 30 group or classroom activities.

This stand-alone activity has students working cooperatively in pairs completing sentences begun by the teacher.  These sentences provide a “swift and easy way for people to voice their inner responses to the condition of our world.”  Sentences such as:

“I think the condition of our society is becoming … “

“What concerns me most about the world today is … “

“Ways that I avoid these feelings are … “

This activity can be used in conjunction with the “I Don’t Care” activity referenced here.

If you are interested in exploring more of this valuable resource check out the whole manual which is described in more detail and available online on this COOL 2.0 database.  Critical Hope; An Approach to Environmental Education.
