TIGed is looking for the best examples of projects that have helped you take your learning global! We want to hear how you’re using technology to learn about global and local issues, connect with other cultures, raise awareness with your classmates and peers, and even take action beyond the classroom!
Students who are using technology to share global perspectives, understand world issues and develop cross-cultural communication skills as part of their schoolwork. Students taking classes either in person or online are eligible. Please note: If you are under 18, you will need permission from your parents to participate. You can enter the contest using any of TakingITGlobal’s online tools. You could post a blog, a podcast, or project page; member profiles, articles in Panorama, online images in the Global Gallery, or even your TIG profile… it’s up to you! Any content that you submit on TakingITGlobal can count, as long as it helps us understand what your project was and why it was so innovative. The contest is open from March 1st to May 7th, 2007, and you can submit as many entries as you wish. Recognized submissions will have the chance to be featured in a TakingITGlobal publication, as well as to win great prizes! Prize winners will be announced at the 2007 National Educational Computing Conference in Atlanta. All entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges within the TakingITGlobal community; prizes and recognition will be awarded for innovation, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, global awareness, and media and ICT (Innovation and Communication Technology) literacies. [click here to see judging criteria]. Submitting your story is easy: post content that showcases your project or activity anywhere on TakingITGlobal.org or TIGed.org and fill out the contest submission form to explain where your entry is posted and how this project or activity promoted creativity, teamwork, global awareness, and the use of technology. More specifically, follow these steps:
*Note that some content on TakingITGlobal must be approved by staff. Please allow up to four weeks for your content to be approved.
Check back on our contest page, keep an eye out for the TIG Dispatch, or visit our booth at NECC for a list of winners in late June 2007. And remember, whatever you decide to showcase, your entry must be submitted through the TakingITGlobal.org or TIGed.org online community! We can’t wait to receive your stories, so see you online! |
