Adding to: Sustaining My Community with Renewable Energy

In this module students are tasked with exploring ways to provide their community with safe, renewable energy that will sustain their needs. Looking back at our history with different energy sources and the consequences of these choices provide a framework for students to predict what energies are best for future use. After reading through the scenario and using the additional resources provided, students complete investigations to further their understanding and consolidate their knowledge. The list of investigations and their difficulty is listed below and can be found in the 'Sustaining my community with renewable energ module' link.

The NASA Global Climate Change Education/Earth Science Education Alliance (ESSEA) modules include situations, connections to standards, resources and sample investigations. Unless labeled K-4 the modules can be adapted for middle and high school students.
