Adding to: Carbon City

Carbon City is an education module designed to help students explore the sources and effects of carbon dioxide in urban centres. After reading through the scenario and using the additional resources provided, students complete investigations to further their understanding and consolidate their knowledge. The list of investigations and their difficulty level is listed below and can be found in the 'Carbon City Module' link. 

 

The NASA Global Climate Change Education/Earth Science Education Alliance (ESSEA) modules include situations, connections to standards, resources and sample investigations. Unless labeled K-4 the modules can be adapted for middle and high school students. 

 

Investigations:
- A case study of local trends in carbon cycle- My NASA data (advanced).
- Climate change: NASA's eyes on the Earth (intermediate (with links for beginner/advanced)).
- Metropolis-  A seek and find carbon dioxide source game (intermediate). 
- Exploring carbon pathways using NASA's NEO site (beginner).
- The greenhouse effect (intermediate).
- A case study of local trends in the carbon cycle- My NASA data (advanced).
- Sustaining my community with renewable energy - ESSEA module. (intermediate).
