Mzee Kombo
Old Mzee Kombo sitting in the sun
Remembering, narrating stories of his youth
To his children's children ninety nine of them
Eleven wives he married
Each after every harvest
Some were short, others were tall
But none disappointed him whatsoever
A bright man even in his old age
Knowing all his children and grandchildren by name
That is truly an eighth wonder
For old mzee kombo is ninety-nine years.

I like making people happy and one of the ways is by writing poetry, short stories and other articles that will enlighten. I believe that words can either heal or hurt. I hope my writing will heal and put a smile on someone's face.

Very good. Baijuka Elvis Rufus | May 23rd, 2006
I think your writing is very good. i liked the ryme and the flow. it has alot of symbolism and anyone who has done literature can read between the lines. Having siad this, i was dissapointed getting to the lend, i though you would relate it to something negative, after all, the guy has many wives and children, doesn't he? So i thought this would be a little negative...but then i guess not, he has lived up to 99. WOW!
