Starting in September 2010, editions of News from TIGed will feature interviews with educators around the world who are using technology to bring global awareness and citizenships to their classrooms. If you are using TIGed and other technologies to forge international collaborative learning partnerships, we want to hear from you!
TIGed wants to know how we can use social media to expand our reach and better serve this community. We invite you to take a short survey to share how you like to use social media to communicate and share information. The survey will take about 5 minutes to complete and all participants will be eligible to win a FREE one-year virtual classroom license!
If you are interested in empowering your students to shape a greener future, check out the Tread Lightly program! Free of charge to teachers the world over, Tread Lightly offers online tools and resources designed to help youth reduce their ecological footprints. Materials are currently available in English and French, with a host of other languages coming in January 2011.

The Tread Lightly Teacher Toolkit is an interdisciplinary educational resource developed to help secondary school students around the world learn about climate change through the lens of ecological footprints – measures of the demand placed on the planet by human beings. This first version of the toolkit was specifically designed to run in parallel to key events in global climate change policy leading up to and including the UN climate change conference in December.
