Your Finest Hour
Brayden Krell

He walks alone, down narrow paths
Not knowing where his steps will lead him
Stirring emotions inside him, both joy and wrath
Every blind step makes him ask whether he’ll sink or swim

He says, “God help me out of this place”
These walls don’t give way, they seem to close in
It is futile, there is no way to win this race
Between him and his savior lies the sin

Then just when he’s about to give up
Life and light breaks out of the dark
“Hear me O’ Lord, come fill my cup”
Darkness speaks,"Give it up, end this lark”

He staggers and falls to the ground
The darkness chokes out the light
The light speaks, “In me, hope is found”
He stands again, roused to the fight

He begins to run, no longer out of air
Engulfed in the light he resists temptation
His enemies, they grope and they tear
They cannot stop him, he nears his destination

Finally he reaches that place
In the Savior’s arms he falls
Renewed afresh by a saving grace
For you as well, he will call
