In my days of blue
I sobbed in the blue
Midnight blues

No succour within the bricks blue -
No vindicating clues
No balmy ointment
No wound’s treatment

No teddy to cuddle
It was chagrin and hurdle
Midnight grumbles.

I was pretty saddened
B’cause my wounds reddened
From their spoken laden.
It was a mammoth burden
That’s why I was maddened.

But I pity the scoffers
B’cause they are idle loafers -
Nosy parkers, who monger scuttlebutts,
They are not brainier than cigar butts.

Lo and behold, heaven visited my trouble
And gave me double for my trouble
Heaven humbled those who rattled
B’cause He hearkened to my grumble.

To make my wage triple,
Heaven redouble my marble.
In my eyes it was a marvel -
Glory to Heaven for blotting my trouble;
Bless Him, for He alone, gives coddle.

Writer Profile
Visionary Sam

I'm a social engineer with a bold vision. I'm keen about generating and projecting ideas, because every great achievement sprouts from an idea. I'm a young poet and writer of African extraction. I'm an active volunteer and a leader of a youth organization. Currently, my team and I are working on the environment in absolute fulfillment of our passions, and in partial fulfillment of our British Council and Youngstars Foundation Top12 project. I'm very much concerned about the sorry state of the planet Earth. I like taking part in leadership discussions and in the political process, especially, as they affect the youth. I strongly believe in human resource empowerment and development.
