The Karakalpaks are Turkis speaking people. The territory of Karakalpakstan makes 167,1 thousand square kilometers, or more than 37 % of Republic Uzbekistan. The clothes of any people are an example their culture, an ethnic accessory and developed traditions and customs. At tailoring national clothes it is possible to track similarity to other orders. As in clothes it is reflected an environment, a family life. In the past the form of clothes differed depending on position of people in family, a society, age. In 19 century the karakalpaks made fabrics for clothes from home-made - cotton (mata, boz, shatrash) have been widely distributed; silk (jipek), woolen (shal), and also skins (sheepskin) - teri. Bright silk, red with fine complex figure, which basis the pattern of almonds was, is a favourite fabric for female dresses - aydilli. In all territory of lowlands of Amu Darya for outer clothing, man's and female, one grade of a fabric in a strip was applied, reder lilac, reder dark blue tones.
