I resolve never to resolve
As in my resolutions of the past
To soar in height and wave
Beyond myself and best

I resolve in this new morn
To stand strong at sunrise
In spirit of my little best born
And never to fish in the skies

I resolve neither to pick flowers
In the dead of the winter
Nor to seek for success
While the candle sleeps by my slumber

I resolve ever to know
Not to please and be displeased
That love is both in yes ad no
In all candour of deed

I resolve above all to be
Of the best I can contrive
Like of the esteem of the bee
In virtuous contentment of her hive
