As I listen to the silence
That whispers from your presence
Shepherded by ancient patience
That was born of perseverance
And anchored by steely assurance

I am reassured by quiet memory
Oft repeated as in a parody
Vibrating with resonant melody
That so often ends in tragedy
When not attended by astute strategy

As I watch the shiny darkness
I am filled with mighty sadness
At life’s stony harshness
But I must retain hardy braveness
Lest I fall victim of reedy hopelessness

As I wipe the tears of happiness
I laugh from the memories of sadness
That held me prisoner of darkness
To day I am freed from wickedness
That held to ransom all goodness

The echoes of your silence feel me with peace
And I rise with the sun to feel the grace
With which I ride on at my pace
For I know all the riches of the world apiece
Can never replace my new found space
