| My Spirit Is Lifted Up Whenever I look at your affable face My spirit is lifted up with your smile. My mum had daughters who’re my sisters And I love them unconditionally, And none of them can be my wife. I had aunts and friends But none has dealt with my spirit The way yours have done, not bad! I don’t care where my better-half Could come from, Be her an Ivorian, Biafran, Nigerian, Asian or American, But I care for a woman Who would love me as a brother, Sister, mother, father….. And I have found these qualities in you. You encourage me with warm regards And care for me with your question: How are you? Hope you are fine? Stay safe! Peace! You might think that these don’t matter, But they create significant image in me. I always make my orison concerning you, Asking almighty Chineke to protect you. Asking almighty Chineke to protect you And to keep you safe for me, Because not a time too long I shall say Bye to ‘singles’ club and pray with you.
