Talk to me

Talk to me -
about a brightly lit night…
and a shadow without a light

talk to me-
about Ferris wheels and swings
and elephants that sings

talk to me-
about the sorrows of living
and the joys of dying

talk to me-
about the slashed wrist
and the beauty and the beast

talk to me-
about scarcity in America
and abundance in Ethiopia

talk to me-
about letters that rhyme
and animals that mime

talk to me-
about the fairy on the wall
and the unicorn in the hall

talk to me-
about middle earth and men
and hobbits in the rain

talk to me-
about a hawk and a dove
and a cashmere glove.

and I will talk to you
about the girl that I love.
