"Song of Our Country", describing Miles Davis Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by Michael Merritt, United States May 2, 2006
Culture   Poetry

A dark night of sound emerging from the depths of creation.

Complex, primitive and smooth.

The modern equivalent of a contemporary tribal dance, the celebration of the sun rising in the east and a fiery orange sun melting into the Pacific ocean.

The birth of chill, coolness personified.

The first prince of jazz, your arrangements expanded my imagination and created freedom within a ghetto mind, sophistication par excellance.

The Water Babies are still dancing to the sound of the Man with the Horn....

Eternal Peace.
