Unnamed feeling
beyond expectations
years too long
for hoping more
than your friendship
I am a fool

when I see you
around campus
your heart, your smile
wasn't for me
it is for her
I am lost

she was my friend
I trusted her
she chose you
and rid herself of me
dishonourably
I was betrayed

trying to ignore it
treating you ill
in my bitterness
trying to drive you away
your laugh, your smile
I shut my eyes

I wish nothing more
than your joy
to have your days
filled with light
thus I reasoned
I remained silent

I move on
time waits not
I found another
though he isn't you
tears in my heart
I long for you

I am a fool
I am lost
I was betrayed
I shut my eyes
I remained silent
I long for you

For indeed
I am in love
with you.
