Drum Beat of My Brothers Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by Joel, Nigeria Feb 28, 2006
  Poetry

Somewhere from the West
Sang a sweet song
My heart gave a joyful leap
But my legs wouldn't support it

Rather, I fell, bowed to earth
Humming between my teeth
Which cleaved to death by the drum
Then I knew, so late in life

I am a fool to never have accepted his foolery
But the world mocked my existence
Leaving behind nothing good of me
Except a long list of deeds
