If Islam is considered radical, what about the other religions? Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION

One year after September 11, and I see Islam is in turmoil. Here in Australia, from watching the news bulletins, I can feel the burning hatred between America and its allies, and Islam.

America puts out this feeling of contempt and disrespect. In what I dub "Bush's theorem", Terrorism + Abuse of human rights = Islam. The fuel for anti-Islamic sentiment has been going on for a long time. Islam has been portrayed as harsh and unfair. Many cannot understand why women have to wear head shawls and why films on what really happens are banned. Hearing news of women being stoned for adultery, and recently of people being hanged in a busy market square in Iran, has horrified the Western World. And now September 11 has given the best excuse for blatant attacks on Islam; perceived as a religion of hatred, unfairness and terrorism. I am not writing to express my opinion on whether or not this is true though.

All I ask you to ponder on is: Does Islam deserve to be treated as the religion of sinners? For if this is true, then Christianity and Hinduism, the two main oppressors of Islam, could also be considered to be religions of sinners.

Hindus are causing great problems for innocent Islamic people. A community of Islamic people, I heard, is forced to live in a cemetery in India, constantly in fear of their lives. These Hindus are also acting like terrorists, exactly what the Indian Prime Minister has accused the Muslims of behaving as.

In Australia, there currently is an investigation into child sex allegations, with the head of the Sydney Church, George Pell, having been accused of sexually molesting several boys 40 years ago. Even in America, several high ranking ministers have been forced out of their churches because of the people's angry response to it. As a teenager Christian-Australian, I feel extremely angry and I also feel that some of the crimes committed by the priests-who according to the Bible, are God's representatives- are worse that any Islam has committed.

What also annoys me is that unlike Islam, Christians are not being abused and treated like untouchables since their priests are meant to be the holier than the common person.

Haven't Christians been responsible for terrorism in the past? Refugees are locked up. That is a form of terrorism. There were the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the Americans. The gas chambers of the Nazis. The constant killing by the Israelites.

In conclusion I can only say: Before looking down on other religions, take a closer look at your religion and then wonder, ‘Are they alone?’…

The crusaders were/are not Christians
beth james | Sep 8th, 2003
Those who murder in any way, shape or form---are not Christians. The Lord of the Bible commands ALL with the new testament "Thou shalt not kill" that "if you try to save your life, you'll loose it but if you loose it for the sake of the Holy Word--you'll save it". It is better to be killed in this life--then to kill. That is what the New Testament teaches. Any one not abiding by those teachings---can say they're Christians till they're blue in the facr---but in the end--it will be found---that they WERE NOT Christians. There is no way anyone can be a Christian, without keeping the Laws of the New Testament. The koran clearly commands it's followers to: 009.029 YUSUFALI: Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. 005.018 YUSUFALI: (Both) the Jews and the Christians say: "We are sons of Allah 037.151 YUSUFALI: Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 037.152 YUSUFALI: "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 019.089 YUSUFALI: Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous! 002.190 YUSUFALI: Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors. 002.191 YUSUFALI: And slay them wherever ye catch them.<---no matter what, that is murder. It is not self defense. If there is a last day--a day of Judgment--and life after this life---then why does 'allah' command his followerers to do such things? 009.030 YUSUFALI: The Jews call 'Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth! The many witnesses who testified the New Testament were there. They reported the things they say, the things He (the Holy Son of God said to them) They are many, they were there---they all tell the same testimony. Along comes muhammad several centries later, who was not there---stands alone--no one who testifies the same as he does---and he calls the many who were there---liars. how would an islamic court judge such a case amongst men? one man who was not there---calling the many who were---liars? which should that court believe? You don't have to repsond to this. The hope here---is that many with the ability to reason with simple logic---will find this---and consider.
