The Little Lady Bird's Dream Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by Saad Javed, Pakistan Oct 15, 2005
Child & Youth Rights   Poetry

Far, far, far away
I've dreamt about alighting
the other side of the river flowing

Up, up, up above
I've dreamt about flying
among the tiny fire-flies glowing

The meadows here are still dry
For the desire of rains, they still cry
But the cloud comes and seldom cares
Passes by and does not shed tears

I confess about the love, here I get
but have to grasp the misty paths ahead
Another path waits for me, another divine lore
For my footsteps crave, sands of another seashore

I've desired for breathing
in the unsung island's breeze blowing
I've dreamt about flying
among the tiny fire-flies glowing

I write not because I can. I write because I have to. Good or bad, I have to keep the stream flowing. Words express a human's disposition, so better out than in!
