In the darkest of darkest hours,
In the hour before the crack of dawn
I have set my sail and traveled
On the journey back home

I have sailed in different seas
And crossed so many distant lands
I have read in the book of life
A book that was passed into my hands

I have drifted from the valley of darkness
So as to bathe in the eastern sun
And I recalled from the heart of my weariness
The battles I have lost and won

I have come to dream of a better day
To begin yet another story
I have come to rise with the rising sun
In the land of never-ending glory

My ship has sailed into the River Nile
And there it sailed no more
For now I can finally unburden my load
So I stood and came ashore

I have come from a world that has lost its grace
I carried a legacy of ageless defeat
I ran in a world that ran in a different pace
Yet, I hoped not to forfeit

I came with the promise of release
From past pains and wounds
And thought that the chapter of my anguish
May, in this land, concludes

I came and stood in the heart of the desert,
In the middle of nowhere
And as my eyes traveled across past glories
I saw the pain that we still share

I was standing on the threshold
Between two different realms, I stood
As I groped with the past and its demons,
Myself, I barely understood

Come what may,
The dream shall attack the kingdom of my heart
And I will watch the veins surrender
As they drift the gates apart

Come what may,
A fourth pyramid will be build
One stone upon a stone
This land will end the endless years
I will no longer roam

And though the wings of the birds are broken
There will be a time when they will soar
And though the dream has been long stifled
It will spring once again and forever more

And we will walk again that dusky road
And we will be able to pursue
The walking of another day,
The glow of morning dew

« return.
