A BROKEN WALL

Now the wall is broken
And all are let loose.
Everything in a hurry;
With speed and flight we move.
Hurriedly got, hurriedly spent,
We lay waste our strengths.

Before, before,
Patience had virtue.
Now, it savour is no more.
Our mouths sing no song,
Our feet dance no dance,
But one; faster! Faster!
And so we move faster,
And lured away to our graves.

« return.
