Africa oh my Africa, the motherland of all motherlands.
The heritage of the black man,
you are the only one we know,
you gave us comfort and protected us,
When our brothers turned against us.
Africa to you we owe our lives and love,
Who else is worth our praise and encomiums but you?
You have been robbed and deprived of your glory
for our sakes, by welcoming us you were made a slave,
By your fellow motherland.
Oh Africa! Who will restore back your glory?
Who will make you a great force again?
When even we your children have turned against ourselves,
When all we know now is how to share your glory,
Instead of keeping it intact.
How can a house divided against itself stand?
Wake up! our dear mother Wake up! And save us your children,
From missing the path which you have set for us.
