Dreams could be described as possible eventualities girded with burning zeal, but hooked in the realm of imagination. Hence dreams become positive when they materialize in the physical world. In a nutshell, positive dreams are fulfilled hopes.
Today, youths of this dispensation bear a particular dream in mind, and look forward to the actualization of the dream. But are all dreams positive? Why do we have unfulfilled dreams? What solutions should be applied to bring dying dreams back to life?
In our minds, we cherish our dreams because they are precious, and this ignites a burning zeal in us. But it is very unfortunate to know that not all dreams are realized. So many reasons are attached to unfulfilled dreams, and I will discuss three reasons in the paragraphs below.
Poverty has claimed the potency of the dreams of many youths. In Nigeria, there are youths with sparkling dreams. They can analyze and defend their projects perfectly to show the originality of their work. Nature has granted some youths with great creative skills. Their hope is to become a messiah who will bring about positive changes to our nation, and the world as a whole. Some are brilliant brains who are good writers. They hope to establish peace through written words. These are the products of our nation, but it’s a pity that there is no sponsor for them. We can also witness this in some other parts of the world. This problem opens a door to frustration, and as a result, the love for many great dreams has waxed cold. This “dream killer” should be given urgent attention. Furthermore, governments should assist youths who need sponsorship by allocating funds for them. Public awareness should be created because there are still so many young people out there whose dreams are barred by a lack of sponsorship.
Discrimination is another reason for unfulfilled dreams. This problem is a result of segregation of colors and creeds, and differences in financial, influential, or academic standards. Non-governmental organizations and youth activists still have a lot to do in addressing this problem. Thanks to TakingITGlobal for creating such a broad umbrella that brings NGOs as well as other individuals of different colors and backgrounds together as one, in order to share opinions. Let seminars be introduced in all places. The media should carry out advertisements which address this problem. International conferences should continue to promote love and mutual relationship between races.
It’s a pity that some young people give in to discouragement due to a lack of self-confidence. Though they have beautiful dreams, they are afraid of facing possible challenges and critics. It shatters dreams. Therefore, youths should be advised to participate in group discussions, where people meet to sort out the problems affecting their goals. By doing so, youth will not be weighed down with challenges and critics. Online group discussions, which address this problem, should also be introduced.
Our dreams ought to be positive. None should be a waste. So let us all stand to help bring these dying dreams back to life.

I am a young man whose dream is to reform the world through poetry. I was nominated as "Poet of the year" for 2003 by Maryland-based International Society of Poets. Though I was unable to attend the convention for a reason, I still find joy in my achievement.
I do not have an organization of my own, but I plan to have one soon. I am looking forward to joining so many governmental organizations, and meeting poets of like minds. I believe so much in poetry, and it has been my platform for everyday activity.
