Though was pre-counseled,

I left with so much trepidation, so much fear!

Fear of my future, my bright future.....

Fear of life and of death,

Fear of what to do when I return home,

Where to go and live,

I was silenced and terrified!

Who to break the silence to and with,

I felt like I was dead, oh! But living,

When I was post counseled,

I left with my head ringing

From thousands of,

"Dos" and "don'ts!"

I recalled my past times, my happiness and good old days

Oh! I felt like I was dead! But now

Smiling, laughing and eating out, quite healthy,

Making new friends of same faith and belief;

Having a good time and living' a wonderful life....

As before, with the infection,

Here in Nigeria. With,

The disease I was told to fear;

A disease for the cursed, the disadvantaged and unlucky people?

But a disease of faith and hope,

A disease that holds promises from experts and researchers of all time,

Promises of a better tomorrow, and

Promises of a fearless and infection free day,

A world cured of AIDS and where positive is turned

Negative... A wish come true!
