The Sky is Crying Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION

Peace & Conflict   Poetry

Each time I wake up in the morning
I could see the sky shedding tears
Because of hatred, prejudice and war
That has taken over our world
Our uncared attitude towards the helpless
Who live on nothing and sleepless

The sky sheds tears
Because of the cry of the agonised
Those we threatened with fears
And they never experienced living without tears
Because their means of living are been shared

I could see the ground cracking
Because of the blood we shed on it
Because on it we fight, maim and kill
Because of the innocent souls we buried on it
Whose blood were shed
Because of our greediness

I could see the earth crumbling
Shaking as if there was going to be an earthquake
Because on it we show hatred
While we painted some people red
We sit at home with fear and threat
And because the helpless are out of our minds
We‘ve never enjoyed rest of mind

I could see the sun sobbing
Weeping noisily for humans’ misdeeds
Because it’s dried up many innocent bloods
Before it’s been wiped off with help of rain
And we still never mind to ease their pain
Though they‘ve lost their life
And we forgot their spirit is still alive.

Writer Profile
Adeyemi Adisa

When I examine myself, I see writing as the only way to express my thoughts and have been wasting no time, however little, in ensuring that I express myself. This is an inspirational thought, potentially instilled in each and everyone of us, but the ways we express ourselves is the difference. I hope to meaningfully make use of most of my time and positively share my thoughts with others. You can check out my site (www.yemmmmy.co.nr) for more of my articles and poems.
