| Deep in the struggles of a land Caught in economic turmoil A young girl walks through the rain But far away, she dreams She dreams of a happy life One not plagued by hurt and pains She dreams of a happy family One day she would have She imagines herself In a beautiful house With white picket fences All around She dreams of beating the odds And to become a great attorney Probably some day she’ll return And fight for her people Ice cream and cake are but just a myth She dreams of one day having a taste Instead of the cry bean cake She dreams of one day driving Taking a soothing cruise “My Children will never walk” 30 miles a day Water will flow clear and free She’ll take 3 baths a day And for once, there will be light So she could watch those funny Ads. “I will make it and I will survive!” My dreams I will attain I will acquire what I desire And though I fail, I will never retire! « return. |
