“Man of the third millenium”
The third millennium walks to the planet. Today is an instant between a history and imagination of day in the future. Future can not be without experience and achievements of the past and without persistent work in the present. What has brought to us past century, past millennium? The twentieth century became an information age, global association of the countries and a sociopolitical reorganization of the world. What should be the person of the new millenium? I think he should be more harmonious than the ancestors. I think that harmony is a balance between spiritual, physical and intellectual parts of the person. People walk on the planet. We are sure in our correctness and infallibility. We use all that the ancestors left us and not always we think of what we will leave our descendants. We live so as if we are last people on the earth. We act as if there is no judge for us. I think that for the future of our country a revival of belief in God is very important. The attitude to religion will be a little bit different than it was before. The person will execute precepts of religion not because of the fear of punishment. The person will be convinced firmly that religious laws are a unique way of spiritual perfection, and that God is love. Some visionaries describe the people of future as mutants with an ailing body and a huge head. I am sure it is false. The statistics show that population of the planet grows rapidly. Also now people live longer than before. More people prefer a healthy way of life. Nowadays technologies leave man more time for perfection. I dream that people of the future will be like ancient Greeks - the high intellectual potential, physical beauty and psychical health. All this will result in the fact that each person will be responsible for all the actions and events of the epoch he lives in. He should be sensible to all affairs, acts and words.
I think that to be a good citizen means to be educated. Today in the world it is very difficult to live in prosperity and wealth without being a good specialist. However, a certificate or a diploma does not mean success. To achieve something in your life, you need to be able to work in a team, to cooperate and communicate. Only in past times people worked separately in a filthy room not communicating as it was not important for their work. We can truly say that the 21st century can be named a century of the world connections and international communication. Today the huge firms and corporations depend on their teamwork, unity and mutual understanding. Besides, modern transport and Internet open super opportunities for connections, joint work, projects and solving of issues together. Therefore to be a citizen of a new millennium means to be sociable. But the society often likes to impose obligations on you and to make you think its way. So it’s necessary to have a firm and precise life position and be able to defend it. Also because of today’s rhythm of life, it is vital to be able to plan your time and solve problems as they appear. The citizen should be rational, resolute and without the mistakes of the previous generations. He/she should be attentive both to the people around and to his nearest and that demands effort and patience. Citizens should remain a person, a human being. So I see the citizen of a new millennium.
“What is it to be a good citizen?”
What do you think happens when you turn the light on? Is it dark anywhere? No. Everything is bright and beautiful. So I think, “To be a citizen” means to be as “light”, if you catch what I am saying. I mean that everyone nowadays should develop only good and radiant sides of soul. All people must understand that if they think about different problems constantly, they’ll only double these problems. It is necessary to solve our troubles as quickly as they occur and not to make a cult of them. You should never play against the situation. If the problem isn't settled despite all your efforts, leave it for some time. Then you'll see that a solution will come quite quickly. Never express your dislike to the world, people and especially God. You should know nothing happens without his will. Everything is given by God. He makes you steadier by sending you various life incidents which make your will be iron, intellect flexible, nerves strong, views, goals and values appointed and definite. However, the last but not the least, they allow our heart to determine the concept of justice which is fundamental for humanity. To live peacefully with your environment just try to feel good to people around you, to find something good in every face floating by and to see friends in people not enemies. You certainly can say that it’s impossible as you have more close relations with a small group of people and don’t even know others. You are right. However even in the worst person there is a bit of God. If you are forced to communicate with the person you don’t like, just try to do it quietly and without preconception. Don’t be aggressive. Be friendly, patient and careful. So you can establish good relationship with this man which also will reveal pluses of his character. Also try to be in a good mood every day and keep your sense of humor “fully equipped.” Wake up with a smile and be merry all day. At the beginning it will be difficult enough. Then just believe me, after two or three months of training, you’ll get used to this way of life. As a result there will be one good citizen more in this world. People! If you want to be loved, love others yourself. If you want to live in peace with each other, try to change and make yourself better. It will be more effective. And finally, make your happiness with your own hands. In my opinion, it is the principal difference between our century and the times of our fathers and mothers. Our epoch is the epoch of extremely strong intellect and light souls. We have to all make our world magnificent and exciting. I hope that everything that I’ve said will be the major goal in everyone’s heart. OK?
