I love you
For loving me
For appreciating
The life we have,
Mine, yours... ours

I love you
For loving me so much
For making me smile and laugh,
For holding me close
And for the warmth of your touch

I love you
For loving me first
For loving me last
And for loving me every moment
We are together or apart

I love you
In a way so unusual
That my life feels as my heart knows
I've loved you long before
As I will love you long after

I love you
For not being afraid
Or distant or cautious
For risking your heart
And for finding mine

I love you
For reaching out to me
And for knowing and for believing
And for trusting that love cannot be lost
And at last we will survive the worst

I love you
For loving me
When I was afraid or tired
When I was happy or sad
When things were good or bad

I love you
For staying when it was easy
And still being there when it was hard
And refusing to let go
And refusing to give up

I love you
For being there
When I need you most
For listening even when
I tried to speak but had no words

I love you
When you hold me
When you kiss me
When we are together
Even when we fight

I love the way you
Love me for just me
For not running or hiding
For trusting me in another's arms
Knowing that, always... I am yours

I love you
For being patient and kind
For making me see better
And helping me decide
And for just being there

I love you
For looking out for me
Being awake when I sleep
Loving me with more love
Than my heart can ever seek

I love you
For making love right
And for holding me tight
And for your breath on my face
Even now, as I sleep at night

I love you
For standing so strong
When I was leaving
Knowing that distance is only what it is
Just miles and nothing else

I love you
For trusting the universe
To keep us together
And to unite us under the same sky
And heal the pain of the miles

I love you
And God willed this to be
Because sometime in my life
I must have been very kind
Or loving or true

I love you
And it’s not important
How or why or when
All I know and hold is
This love that makes me complete

I love you
And hear it again
Every time you listen to the rain
Or touch the sand or step out in the sun
They bring messages from me to you

Writer Profile
Shireen

Being an Indian living in Malaysia, I am proud of the culture that envelops me. There is so much in me that reflects a different art of living and the fundamentals of just being caught up in moments.
I am grateful to God, to the universe, to my parents, grandparents and family for preserving the traditions in me. With a world racing to be modern and sophisticated, simplicity and culture is a fading treasure, eroding with the birth of new-found philosophy.
I do not believe I am any of the better writers. There are so many more talented people around me that I admire and I aspire to learn a lesson or two. I write, simply, so that the universe that inspires me will be better appreciated. I write so that the unique culture, values and rich tradition that I have inherited will at its very least be known to you.
We are all here for fleeting moments and there is so much to be done in such a short time. Too much to see, too many people to love.
I thank you for flipping through this page and taking the time to look at my poem. If it touched you in anyway, I am grateful in more ways than you can imagine.... Thank you everyone and I wish you well.
