Peace & Conflict , Human Rights   Opinions

Before we explore the vast regions of space, we must explore our own human nature and correct the problems in it. How can we justify governing space when we cannot govern ourselves? How can we assume an understanding of other worlds if our understanding of our own world is, at best, incomplete? The problem is that we think we know all there is to know of this world, and the flaws in it are constant and eternal. This has been a major problem throughout our history, as every time we have expanded our geographical knowledge we have done so prematurely and the result has been genocide and enslavery of people. It must then be assumed that any attempts of populating other planets at this stage in our evolution will bring about similar injustices, ill governing and the inevitable greed which we have become so accustom to.

Writer Profile
Sean Joseph McNeill

I am a Canadian citizen currently attending my last year of highschool. I am not as involved in my community as I wish I was, but by posting my articles on TIG I hope to find the initiative I need. This is a great website because it brings a massive planet together through mutual interests and helps us stay informed about the opinions of those who we normally do not get the chance to hear. Organizations like this prove that everyone can [and does] have a voice.
