Someday I’ll sleep like primitive men
Moist breeze caressing my face

How can I explain moonlight to you!?
And how, the reflection of Neelkanth
On Deoria Tal!
A collage we two had made
On a red sunset sky!
Fragrance of some French perfume
On a sunny winter afternoon!
And the silence of fallen leaves
Broken by the scream of a lonely goods train
In a southern Indian rain forest!

Even then
Someday I’ll sleep like primitive men
Moist breeze caressing my face

I’ll make new collage with you -
May be on the canvas
Of a snowy evening.
And add the fragrance
Of the last beat of my heart.
