Peace & Conflict   Poetry

I have not been Here long
But I don’t think I will stay

Not that Here is anything short of peaceful
But Here is only distance

Here is not Home
Here is not Home, but what is?

Not what it used to be
No,

I remember when my home
Stopped being Home

When bullets rang
When blades shone

When there ceased to be night
For there was no sleep to be had

And I wake now in this distance
To the sound of my own tears

I do not dream of Home
For it is gone

No warm sun on my face
No cool earth between my toes

Yet I still close my eyes
Imagining its close...

You can tell yourself
over and over what's home

You can tell the mind forever
But it's the heart that knows

its a word so easy to utter yet hard to find.. for we though, it already is, only to find that its but a temporary shelter... you are not alone in the quest... and you'll never be alone... but lets just keep the faith...
