Oh, Death! Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by Henry Ekwuruke, Nigeria Jul 10, 2004
Peace & Conflict   Poetry

Death has no specials,
It has no favourites,
You nor I
It comes when you least
Expects it

Oh, Death!
He is a canal being
Who never hears of man's life
When tricked by more thoughts
Of death

Oh, Death!
Of course, no one can claim to
Love death
Neither does death have specials
He comes through a secret door

Oh, Death!
Death does not take excuses,
A wealthy man considers death
As a calamity,
He sees death as something painful
And unfavourable

Oh, Death!
Death has no specials,
Young or old he takes,
Rich or poor, black, white or gold
Without discrimination

Oh, Death!
Death does not stigmatize,
He does not take bribes,
Never a corrupt being
If death where to take bribe
The poor man would have finished,
Thank God for death,

Oh, Death!
