where do we find our inner and global peace? War and peace I will compare them to cry and smile, day and night or good and bad. There is no particular place in the world today one will go and find peace. Peace is not gotten from high security or financial capability. To me I believe peace is every where like air if you want to find peace you will. To refuse peace is just as if you decide not to smile but to cry or just decide I will not great my neighbor today for no just reason. Peace is always around us but we chose not to take it at certain times for one reason or the other to dominate, intimidate or punish. All these because of the egoistic nature of human beings which some people manifest more than others. And these human beings even if they find themselves in the government you find that kind of state always threatening the others for war. Is war becoming more and more a supplement for diplomacy? Diplomacy is supposed to be practiced for general benefits to bring peace. The issue of diplomacy is having a lot of controversy because people want to practice diplomacy for personal benefits. Take for example during what I will term”the wind of change of Africa” Which started in Egypt and is still circulating in Syria the action of the African union is a clear example of personal benefits where some African presidents did not even offer a word or share their concern. Nevertheless, war can never supplement diplomacy war can occur but diplomacy will always came in to break the war. I will like to site the case of the border crises between Cameroon and Nigeria over the Bakassi oil rich peninsular diplomacy overruled. Nonetheless, if diplomacy will always allow war first before intervening like in the present situation of Syria then it comes dangerous. I pray war never become a supplement for Diplomacy. Are our soldiers protecting the peace of our nations or rather depriving others of the peace they need in their nations? From the motor of soldiers which says honor and fidelity. They live to respect the commands and act as prescribed. To me I think the majority of the soldiers don’t like war but they are forced to fight. Take for example in Libya and the other nations when there was war, a soldier are forced to shoot and kill even their relatives as far as they are on the opposite side to protect them selves. It’s a pity. Talking with my dad who is a retired soldier, he always regret the fact that he killed soldiers from the opposite camp during the border dispute between Nigeria and Cameroon over the Bakassi peninsular but he had to do it to protect his own life and also to defend the flag of nation. Talking about soldiers depriving their fellow patriots from peace in their own nation I will say it still boils to the fact that they react as commanded but the soldiers can do something to make peace in the state. If all the soldiers say they are not going for war or say we are going out but we are not shooting peace will reign. What is the role of the young peoples of the world in promoting peace? Young people are the leaders of tomorrow if they preach peace, practice peace and build up peace with a solid foundation. When they will be leading, there will be no more wars. Young people also have the opportunity to sensitize their communities and parents, who can be leaders or soldiers, about the consequences of war not only to them but to their communities, nation and the world in general. Some young people are soldiers and they will grow to command the military if they practice, peace will reign in the world. « return. |
