What happens if or when
You lose yourself
By trying to do
What it is you do best?

What happens if or when
Your passion lies where
Some of the preconceptions
You closely held
Must die?

What happens if or when
Through fighting for
What you think you believe
You begin to feel deep down
That you are lost,
Your beliefs were immature and misguided
And even worse than that
You have been deceived?

Who turns your "hurts into halos"
Or transforms your "scars into stars"?

When is it fine to change your mind
About a conviction
You thought you could stand firmly
Behind?
Beside?
Inside?

What happens
When all you thought you knew
Was true turns out to just be
Reality and subjective fact?
Where do you turn?
Who do you call?
Where can you run?
What can you do when
The questions you keep
Asking yourself
Seem to have no
Right answers

The best place to begin
To search for possible
Answers
Is within
