Two weeks passed and it happened again, Amy awoke in a cold sweat screaming and once again only remembered part of the dream. She sees herself walking down an old dusty hallway and opening the door at the end. After that all she remembered that behind the door something was going to kill her. It took her a while after reliving the only parts of the dream she remembered to calm down, but eventually after about 10 minutes of trying to catch her breath she gave up and went downstairs for breakfast. When Amy got to the table she thought that she must have looked really pale since her mom’s face quickly turned to a face of concern.

“Amy, Are you feeling well today?” her mom asked.
“Yeah mom just had the dream again”
“Oh Amy for god sakes I thought it was over it has been 2 weeks since the last one. Aren’t you a little old for nightmares? You are 14…”
“Save me the speech mom. If I could really control my dreams, do you really think that I would keep having this stupid dream? Maybe this dream is a warning of some sort. Dreams the way to the unconscious mind and since its reoccurring, it…”
“Now you shut it with your dream crap. Dreams are dreams and that’s it they’re not real”

After that they both kept quiet while they ate breakfast. These arguments are common between Amy and Jessica Cowell. Jessica is a scientist and doesn’t know why her daughter turned out so spiritual. She often thought to herself that she must have gotten it from her father wherever he was.

As she ran in she couldn’t help but feel as she’d seen this, all this before. The inside was just as unkempt as the outside. All the furniture was in disarray, gray with dust. But for a flash she saw everything as if someone still lived there with the furniture now looking clean and dusted and even dishes on the table and then she saw the little girl run up the stairs and then everything was as it was. But Amy still ran up the stairs. But when she reached the top it was clear. It was the hallway that she always remembered from her dream. The dream that made her scream, and wake in a cold sweat that very morning. But even with this knowledge she continued forward as if she couldn’t control her own feet. Her heart was pounding in her throat with every step, her brow with sweat. Then her feet stopped moving at the door she had gotten familiar with, but never seen behind it. And now was the moment. She would see behind the door but at the same moment with the feeling of anxiety, she felt great fear because she knew this would also be the moment of her death. She tried to run but her feet were glued to the floor and her arm started lifting up as if being pulled up by invisible strings and her hand grabbed the cold door handle.

As it turned with a loud creak her heart pounded louder in her throat. Then the door swung open. There stood the little girl. Now as she got a closer look she noticed how deathly pale she was and just above her dark circles, she had eyes that looked so black, empty and cold it looked as if it didn’t belong to her face. Amy was so lost in her eyes her mouth hung open, and she could not utter a sound. She barely even realized the girl walking towards her, and she didn’t even think of what the little girl could be holding behind her back. Then all of a sudden Amy was watching another time. She saw the little girl but this time with life in her eyes and face and she walked into the same room but it was different. Colorful pink wallpaper and bookcases lined the walls and a small bed with a book lay open. The little girl sat on the bed when a tall man who looked like her father stood at the doorway.

What a creepy story
mayuri | Apr 19th, 2006
Congratulations, Stephanie: I was really scared while reading your story, it is terrific. I find it by mistake, what a lucky break. I have save your story in my PC. Now, I'd like to publish your story in my blog at MSN spaces. Can I do that? I can put a link to your story or website, or both, in my blog. If you are OK with this, send a message to me to Yugislave@aol.com
