See the body, rested soul. It's all a passing, as we know. But how do we go on to perceive The ones we love, and do not want to leave? Or will we find much more with them, in our newborn life With no strife? We have just passed beyond here. And as I think of all worldly days, And tried to change it in many ways, I see that it was just all abuse, Another human mind that was turned loose. As we had fallen to the hands whose say was wrong-- Like this song-- We have just passed beyond there. Now there is more grieving in our midst The stronger take with stronger fists. And they take more and know not even why That death is falling on us from the sky And our brothers lay down to die. No one cries. They have just passed beyond here. Shallow beatings deepen the stains Of which the rich will not refrain For they think that only te strong survive, and yet still know not what it is to be alive. And to only find themselves in the darkest place, In disgrace. For they've just passed beyond here. For the flaws in the nature of every man Is not a flaw we can easily understand. For every step we take to make this clearer. We find each other getting nearer--to where we should be. « return. |
