Departed We think we're slick, we think we're cool,
we think that God dropped out of school.
We think we know, we think we're smart,
we think we can live without His heart.

We've got all the answers,
we've got all the skills,
We've got just what God gave us,
a brain and some will.

This race that we've made,
it's so far from the fact.
Can we get back to being,
or are we too far off track?

Simply we know of a road just ahead,
where we lie still resting,
but not in a bed.
Simply we hope that we've done the right thing.
but we wonder if we really should have
believed in the King.

Now is the hour to set yourself down,
consider the future where you won't be around.
Will you rest in the comfort of knowing the truth,
or,
will you toss without moving to get yourself loose?

Writer Profile
Passionbear

Wrought from a breed apart, I knew pain more than anything else (see my bio), writing gives me a voice to share from my experience. Drawn towards the value of social connections, I continue to seek more views of how life experiences color our choices and decisions. Mixed with races of other countries, I have found it hard to fit in with many. But in writing, I get to be whoever I want to be.
