Once upon a time we met in England and got best friends.
Were we so different but also so similar.
We spoke two different languages but
our bodies spoke the same.
Sitting on the sea back to back,
Watched out to the horizon and tell
each other our biggest dream.
Endless tears to leave in order to fulfill
our goals. Splitting a heart in two parts and
take it home. Swearing to be best friends
for a lifetime….

We faced a few cultural problem.
I asked myself how you can live without vegetable? How can a human being
only but live on potatoes, fish and meat? Clearly I understand it when I had the honour to visit you with my family as your bride mate.

You live on a beautiful potato farm. Your family is just as charming as you are.
Island is indeed the most terrific place I have ever met. The country of steam and ice.

As your bride mate I wish you
a life full of sunshine,
an easy pathway as a professor in history and economics.
Please know that my heart will always be with you.
Know I will always be there to give you a smile or chase away your tears of sorrow. My hand will always hold in yours,
my loving arms will shelter and protect you as much as I can.

To be married is not always simple but always remember:

Give each other as much happiness
that love can give you.
In times of darkness watch out to your beautiful gift, your charming children.
I am sure you both are going hand in hand forever!!!

(Memory for my best friend which began in England in 1995

I came across a few outstanding people in my life from various nationalities:

An Ethiopian guy who only wanted to learn as much as possible from all over the world to help his country to have a better standard of living. My eyes were always on his lips to learn all about the interesting things he has explored.

A Japanese guy who got one of my best friends. A very different culture than ours, yet so close to ours. I really love this guy and his wife so much.

On our honeymoon we made a world trip and the poem "East vs. West" was actually what I felt while visiting Vietnam and Cambodia.

"Impression on Mind and Heart" is just a life experience. I came across a Swiss guy with whom I always refused to dance Salsa until the day we met in a Restaurant. A great dancer indeed and a wonderul person.

One of my greatest experience is my dear friend from iceland. I love her and her family with all my heart. My best friend. In honor to her wedding as a bride maid, I wrote the poem "Switzerland calls Iceland"

Last but not least, I want to mention my husban. The essential part of my life. I love him with all my heart, he is the air I breath in and my everything I live for. No poem on this toppic - too private:-)
