  Poetry

You come with the setting sun
In myriads of rise
With the countless stars for brides
Very like an African King.
Today Your June Queens flash their
Dazzling Teeth,
But only your favourites grace your heights daily.
King of the night.

You come in quiet splendour,
Mapping the days of men.
Your pregnant belly
Grows ‘pon each night;
So like the expectant mother,
Soon you’re full;
We see the birth of a new dawn,
Mother of a new month.
