Youth Market in Egypt Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by Yasmine Fakhry, Egypt Jun 15, 2003
Culture

For the first time, the Egyptian youth market opens the doors to youth private enterprises. The youth market was inaugurated today, Sunday, 15 June, 2003, by President Mubarak. The Egyptian Social Fund and the Kuwaiti Development Fund, as well as other bodies that are joining in the market, are to finance the small enterprises of the youth. The Kuwaiti Development Fund contributes 300 million pounds towards the employment of 43 thousand graduates and towards reinforcing 14, 000 projects in different parts of Egypt. The national research center and the Academy for scientific research will probe the surveys presented by the youth. The market will also be open for exporters and traders, where they can buy products exhibited by youth. Mr. Safwat Al-Sheriff, Egyptian Minister of Information, stated that the media attention is focused on emphasizing the role of open markets in export, and underscoring the importance of youth inventions, heavy metal industry, and the promotion of youth entrepreneurship and self-employment. He added that the unemployment problem will not be overcome by the government alone, but also through private enterprises and large investments, and that the National Democratic Party will be the bridge that links between the youth and the Funding bodies. He also said that the tremendous success of many key business men goes back to the private enterprises and small businesses with which they started in the beginning of their lives.
