Peace & Conflict   Opinions

Youth are the active population of any country. This age group is the key stake holder of social, political & economy issues of the nation. Youths can act as perpetrator of conflict and they can equally play significant “reverse role” of peace keeping. Especially the main potential of our country are the middle class youth groups. These youths are those who are educated and are increasingly jobless. These youths are all leaving the country and there has been an imbalance workforce.

The whole scenario in Nepal is confusing; the interest of youths after completing their college levels is to go out of the country or to escape from the confusion. It is seen the warring groups in the country have taken full advantage of the confusion. The government has failed to provide young people with the resources and enabling environment to tackle the personal and societal challenges that beset them.

There is increasing frustration in the youths and it is often seen that the frustration is taken out by the warring parties. There is a difference between “revolution” and “hooliganism”, but hooliganism is given the name revolution. We should think before accepting and rejecting things.

Our culture is being pushed aside by the new models from abroad spreading through satellite. We are all following the same things taught to us by the satellite without any hesitation if so where is our wisdom gone? We all should know that there is a difference between vulgarity and fashion. It is seen that the vulgar things are quite attracting, but it should go with the belief and culture of the society. Modernization is blamed as one of the reasons for the youth to forget their culture. We should all think with our wisdom before taking things…

It is high time for us to really differentiate things which is good and which one is bad. When I see the daily newspaper I see the older generation quarreling for power, in the real sense they have all gone mad. The new Nepal is left for the youths to decide so hey guys wake up and let’s make the dawn of the country brighter with us.

First of all to make our country prosperous the economic growth is major which I really don’t see any oldies thinking of economic agendas. We are already late for economic booms like the green revolution, white revolution. We are all going ahead in the tyre burning revolution, let’s stop and let us think of our country.

The nature has abundantly given us with water resources. I think we must make optimum use of the water resources in our country. I mean Water resources in any form whether in taking out electricity or potable drinking water and selling to the neighboring countries. This would generate high income for our country. Lastly it is high time please do think of it.
