Can you hear the nukes line up? Printable Version PRINTABLE VERSION
by Andrew Lauman, Canada Feb 26, 2003
Human Rights   Opinions

A shot rings out,
An ambulance screams by,
An airplane crashes,
People die.

CDC sets the alarm,
Diseases coming to devour,
AIDS haven’t you heard,
Scientists running by the hour,

Stockbrokers laughing,
Some money gambled here,
Stock markets crumbling,
Alan Greenspan is that fear?

People are dying,
War is raging,
Politicians are lying,
Mr. President what are you staging?

Religions oppressing,
Sodom and Gomorrah,
Songs a depressing,
Dude, is there truth in the Torah?

Can you hear the nukes line up?
Are we here to hate?
Living in chaos and disorder,
What is this twisted fate?

Are we living in a matrix?
Can we find a way out?
Can we destroy all these lies?
With a silly shout?

Love, faith and hope,
Can this become reality?
Could there be only one way?
Found hanging on a tree?

I don’t know about you,
But I know about me,
I found eternity,
All within the trinity.

Writer Profile
Andrew Lauman

I find writing to be so opposite to whom I am. I did miserably at English as any of my proof readers or profs could tell you. My thoughts of sitting in one place for periods of time do not give me chills of excitement. However, I have found great satisfaction in allowing my thoughts to be found in the release of writing. I have been able to share some of my deeper emotions through my poems and this has been a wonderful creative process for me! Thanks to TIG for the opportunity.
