A desert girl, flew to the Bayou.
She saw her first lighted creature.
In her heart it was magic, it blew and flew
all over her head.
She captured it and held it in her hands.
Did it burn her? Did it move?
No. It was still.
In one moment, the desert girl saw her future in
that glimmer of the firefly.
She saw her first kiss, enchanted within a glass frame.
She saw her first blow to the heart, disaster she wills away.
She saw her destiny, embarking on a journey to her soul.
She saw her beauty, withering away with the age of time.
In one final light, she saw him, her one, her true abundance.
His sparkle, his light was beyond any on earth. She saw, what she would
be fated to be, but through him it was what she wished to see.
His beauty, his strength, all that she ever asked for.
The desert girl traveled upon a sacred Bayou.
One that most don't ever see.
But what she saw, will it be?
Her life is not defined by one sparkle on a bug.
If you ask me the girl can live well.
In that one instant she saw her love on that little
glowing flee.
This was when she saw of me.
I was her future, I was her life.
In one glimmer of a second, I knew that desert girl would be my wife.
For now, she set me free and I will fly to her again.
Just this once, let me be her guiding light.
There it flew away, thought the desert girl.
Will I ever see that light again.
Why not? Thought the bug.
Life is full of magic, and just this once I got to see.
A fly that glows for me.
