.::This article may appear to be a rant, then again, it may also be a rant with a point::.
The world today, for some, is seen as a peaceful place.....but for us living in reality it is not. Every problem seems to be one that can be solved, but almost every year the same types of problems rise up once more after being "solved". What does this mean? (IMO) It means that the problem lies within each and every one of us on this planet, and/or the people that are directly involved in the situation.
It's quite simple, every nationality has their problems, and every country has their problems along with its citizens' problems. Americans for instance, me being one myself, are extremely hypocritical, arrogant, and of course "power-infused". Not at all times grant it, but when it comes to a situation such as....terrorism. After 9-11 everyone made a big deal about how terrible it was, and how they would never want to be put through it again....yet, now when we go to war to protect Israeli’s that experience terrorism almost everyday, we protest against it. Why? I believe it is a simple term called hypocrisy. We were so arrogant with ourselves that we let our guards down for 9-11 to happen; this arrogance was caused by our "power-infused ways". Basically that means that we think of things this way;
"We are Americans, no one would dare mess with us, we are the best country in the world....blah, blah blah."
Well, America, looks like the terrorists really fear us huh? This is an example of our problems within. If we took a look at something other then money for once, then perhaps we could look at possibilities of attack, wait, alas, we are doing it now....but after a severe wake-up call.
Another example is that we shouldn't even waste our breath on peace treaties in the Middle East. I am not disrespecting anyone from there, or their religions and traditions don't misinterpret. But, honestly, their leaders are terrorists, who killed the leader before them, who killed the leader before them. I think the best segue into what I'm going to say next is a quote from Arthur Miller;
"Never fight fair with a stranger, you won’t get out of the jungle that way."
This goes with dealing with Middle Eastern leaders. They will not use peaceful means until they get what they desire. Each one desires something that causes the other leader to oppose. Every treaty ever written for these countries have been broken and that is not a statement of opinion... it is a statement of fact.
Until we solve things by using common sense rather then what lobbists' think is right, or how it will affect our income rates, no problems in this world will be solved....ever.

You've brought up an interesting point regarding leadership: however, I don't think it's only Middle Eastern leaders who often suffer from a lack of foresight - I can that can be said for leaders (and people) everywhere. All over the world, decisions are made out of fear, imperiling peace.

Decisions are made of out fear.True. But more out of greed.All the leaders represent specific groups of people in society and they are under pressure of bringing benefits to that groups.
Another thing is People's greed sometimes seem to be to be unlimited. Why are they so greedy? becuz they have the fear of being worse than others, of having what they want but dont have,thinking that accepting others' ideologies is same with confessing their ideologies are worse.
The only way is to face this fear and greed conquer them in a humane way.
