In-service Workshops

Global Citizenship

In this workshop, teachers will be exposed to a foundational toolbox of pedagogies, methodologies, and resources for developing transformative global experiences which humanize global issues and engage students in creating change. With ample opportunity for dialogue and hands-on work, the workshop will explore the facets of global citizenship, project-based learning approaches to global learning, and the development of 21st Century skills through global collaborations.

Environmental Stewardship

This workshop gives educators an opportunity to reflect on approaches to environmental education and best practices. With a focus on exploring methodology, educators will discuss how to engage their students in learning about and taking action on environmental issues, and how to foster a sense of responsibility and stewardship. Participants will learn how to adapt environmental issues and themes to their curriculum, subject area and grade level, to encourage critical thinking.

Student Voice

Around the world, a growing number of educators recognize the unique perspectives of students and the importance of including student voice in both educational policy and practice. Through an exploration of current trends and best practices, this workshop will focus on how educators can incorporate student voice into their teaching practice and the role educators play in designing experiences and projects that empower students to have an equal say in the decision-making processes that shape their education, both inside and outside the classroom.

For groups of under twenty, we send one facilitator, and for groups of more than twenty we send two. The travel costs for this second facilitator will be additional costs for you to cover.
