Outside the train station the dispossessed gather
Requesting cigarettes from their oppressors

Security guards pace the platforms
Softly leading muzzled hounds

Up town, crowds choose their poison
And wait to liquify in laser beams

The young are cleansed of the everyday
By a wash of chemicals and sound

A city block divides them
Culture confines them
A common desire drives them
Escape to an artificial reality

Designer clothes, designer drugs
Rags and methylated spirits

Staring eyes gape wide, pupils fill their colour
Lolling heads support a bleary wandering gaze

Eye to eye, yet they will only see each other
When both sets of lids droop into infinity

I like it...it is metaphoric, and self simple (cool language),by poetic lids. Do you dine in politics.
