We are groups of young people in six different countries, taking part in organising events like camps and festivals on national and international level. We try to let our own voices be heard and to implement our capability into actions. It is important to give young people the opportunities to organise projects for their own generation so they can use the experience in other parts of life. One of the basic ideas is to reduce prejudice in the minds of all participants and to make them more tolerant.

How did the Young Voices start?

We developed out of the United Games. This organisation started its work in 1991 with the aim to let young people participating in solving problems affecting them in their surroundings - making a difference. In the following years more and more young persons were involved, and through organising the different events (for example meetings, camps, youth parliaments etc.) active youth groups developed. The "Young Voices" name came from Kristin Eskeland, who is the founder of the Young Voices Movement in Norway.
