What inspires you?

I am inspired by people demonstrating strong motivations, working hard and never giving up their goals. These people, although often are confronted by some unexpected obstacles in their courses of life, still hold firmly on to their dreams and/or ambitions and strive for them. These people are the ones who are going to be successful.

Tell us about an issue that matters to you and how you became aware and involved.

One issue that I really care about is the anti-smoking and anti-substance abuse especially for teenagers. Although many teenagers may deny it, but it is true that many of them are still immature and are very susceptible to unwholesome attractiveness such as smoking and substance usage. I became aware of the harmful effects when I went to an anatomy lab witnessing the deterioration of the lungs of a smoker at a young age. I was completely shocked and have been determined to exert however personal forces possible to propagate the importance of anti-smoking and anti-substance abuse. Share your perspectives on what makes a good leader.

A good leader, in some aspects, is equivalent to a good listener. However, he/she doesn’t just listen dully; he/she listens to the ideas belonging to the members of the group actively and puts forth his/her thoughts to create a combination that is beneficial to the whole group. A good leader may also have some characteristics that maybe associated with a “dictator”, for he/she must be stubborn enough in some situations to make the final decisions.
