What inspires you?
I am inspired by persons who work hard and fight for what they believe in. Especially youth who play an active role in the development of their country and their lives. I am also inspired by those who believe in themselves and are focused on what they are doing, despite what people say or obstacles in their way.
Tell us about an issue that matters to you and how you became aware and involved.
I am passionate about issues which deal with youth empowerment and HIV/AIDS. Many young people today lack motivation and are suffering from low-self esteem and without it societies will not be able to grow to its fullest potential. I became aware of this issue seeing many people being discriminated against because of their HIV/AIDS status. HIV/AIDS is also one of the leading causes of death around the world. I became more involved with these issue by writing articles and getting them published in the the papers. I hope to become a Youth Ambassador for my country so that I will be able to work with young people and encourage them to to press on and to be the best there is!
Share your perspectives on what makes a good leader.
A good leader is one that’s a keen follower and a good listener. Someone who will admit that they are wrong, but stand up for what they believe and what is right. A good leader motivates his followers and he never degrades them, but always uplift them.
Do you think TakingITGlobal can help you achieve some of your goals? Have we already? Please tell us how.
Yes, TakingITGlobal can help me to achieve some of my goals; actually it has already. TIG has provided me with an outlet to express my ideas to young people worldwide. I am able to learn about other cultures by getting involved in projects. That helps me to see what other youth are doing out there. It has made me realize that young people everywhere are typically the same: we share similar ideas, go through similar things. I find new friends and I learn about opportunities. TIG has been a great place to be involved .
